I’ve (Austin) been under the impression that the chocolate chip count in cookies has been inflated through the roof in recent years. I have absolutely zero proof of this, and I’ve done no research into this claim, but my gut says this is probably true.
It’s a very low stakes conspiracy, but I think it has a negative impact on the overall cookie product. It seems to infect everything, from store bought, to bakery made, to online recipes. These cookies consist of like 70% chocolate chips. When warm and fresh out the oven, you might as well be eating a bowl of microwaved chocolate chips with a spoon. It’s basically the same thing.

The art of the chocolate chip cookie is being crushed under the weight of extreme lobbying from Big Chocolate Chip™️.
Sarah and I are here to put an end to this travesty. Late one night, while Sarah was studying away and I was watching the 2016 Saturn Award nominee for Best Fantasy Film, Ted 2, it was determined that we needed cookies. I love doing what I can to support the study effort. Sometimes that’s being a silent study partner, working away over the weekend in the library. Sometimes it’s acting as a patient in pretend medical visit scenarios. Tonight it was making cookies.
I took the opportunity to both help with the study effort and make a proper chocolate chip cookie. That recipe is down below. It was adapted from Anna’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/10909/annas-chocolate-chip-cookies/
Sorry, Anna, but your cookies just had WAY too many chocolate chips in them. These ones are much better, trust.

These serve as a great snack while studying for the internal medicine board exam. They also pair well with the legendary Boston-based comedy, Ted 2. Most importantly, they put an end to the egregious amount of chocolate chip cookies being used in recipes these days. Can’t wait to keep making these for you, Sar. For everyone else, enjoy.
